As in, for checking if the person taking the job (in this case Maks) is honest and reliable et cetera, or if they'll never see them (and thus the cargo) again...
Yep yep you're definitely onto something. From what I understand about this, watched test drops are a pretty routine thing to check uh. Well everything really.
Maks is a pretty easily identifiable person, even with just a name. It's hard to lose someone like him in a crowd.

I like how Maks' dialogue is a little wonky, speaking a new language always feels a bit awkward, I like the visual representation of that
