Seriously though, this is an amazing first page. All the details, the metaphors, the nightmare that must have been coloring this whole damn thing, it's all just very impressive. You pulled out all the stops for this and it really paid off.
And I should know, because I basically parodied the damn thing in the Villain Exchange, and it was a shit ton of work doing something that even somewhat emulated this.

One of the rare good uses of vertical scroll I've seen, the art on it is great and a good mood setter. I'm not even generally a fan of "this is the story of how I..." type openers but this one does its job perfectly
