This isn't a vertical comic, but this page is vertical since it worked best. Welcome to the chaos if it's your first time here. This page is a later-addendum added in 2021

Nice page!!
(I suppose there's a lot of symbolism going on that will make more sense as the story progresses, right?)

Thank you! There was a lot of suffering to finally finish this thing. And yes this is practically infested with symbolism lol

that is a badass page and the proper usage of vertical scroll

some time ago you sent me a number of pages, perhaps to read, perhaps to reply to. here is my reply

this is a heavy comic and not one to be rushed

I am compelled to NOT peek at the deck: I will let the cards fall as they may, when they will

Seriously though, this is an amazing first page. All the details, the metaphors, the nightmare that must have been coloring this whole damn thing, it's all just very impressive. You pulled out all the stops for this and it really paid off.

And I should know, because I basically parodied the damn thing in the Villain Exchange, and it was a shit ton of work doing something that even somewhat emulated this.

Very great job!

Thank you! I loved making this. I actually have a SpeedPaint video on my YouTube channel for it! Coloring it wasn't too bad, getting the layout was the worst and then all the baroque filigre

One of the rare good uses of vertical scroll I've seen, the art on it is great and a good mood setter. I'm not even generally a fan of "this is the story of how I..." type openers but this one does its job perfectly

Thank you! I was concerned about this. What I’m very pleased about too is that it cuts into 3 parts very well!
