So, as mentioned, the scene after this is a doozy. It's a 7 page monster that's taking more time than I would like. So this is a piece offering until that beast is finished. We finally get to see Maks again and a little bit of the outside world.

Great backgrounds! And I love how picturesque Maks walks through the environment. It's an organic character behavior. Super cool!
You do well at those establishing background shots. I know how much of a pain they can be. I imagine those repetitive "tortoise hill" signs weren't too fun. At least, I wouldn't think they're fun. One thing I dislike about shots like that is repeating objects but slightly different to fit the perspective.
So I actually love drawing establishing shots and environments! The environment is a character as much as the people in it. So I try to make use of that! If I can convey something in the environment I absolutely prefer to do that than just have a character say something.
Well good! You're one step ahead of me then. I can't lie, there are some establishing shots that I love to do, even if I'm not the biggest fan of all the details. Because, when it's done, the page just looks so good. I'm a fan of a good establishing shot / environment, so I put some effort into mine when I can.
